@meths why not take a number 10 knitting needle out at night - I find it's an excellent stylus, great for getting pickled onions from the bottom of the jar and just the job for when a weejie pulls a stanley knife out.

Does anyone know of anyone who makes a metal stylus? I do get through a lot. Or can you buy the plastic ends seperately, as they unscrew, and would surely be cheaper.

there are some metal retractable ones on ebay for £3.99 though actually the ends still look plastic but would you want metal touching the screen? I suppose if it was a soft metal

The stylus for my P800 seem to last about 3 or 4 months before snapping. This is not normally because I am being rough with them but because they just seem to be rather cheap.

a solid metal construction with a plastic coated tip would be ideal. I agre, the current ones are just cheap and nasty, especially at the price they charge!

I guess weight is a factor for their initial marketing but I agree more solid constructed styli would sell well

Try the stylus of an iPaq, they feel heavy but I like that. It is some metal I think, with plastic coating or just heavy plastic. Hmm heavy plastic... that sounds cool!
