Bump.

It comes up on google with 'bth.inf xp sp2 delete...' and arrived here.

I took the action, AFTER plugging in a Bluetooth USB stick. Then had problems, windows was saying the inf file for the device was for the wrong version of windows. Strange, since I deleted bth*.* in the windows inf folder. Doing this step does stop windows from (re)installing the mickysoft integrated low-feature drivers.

A) Bluetooth has been pounded out, in media, etc. And..

B) there are a lot of 'Bluetooth USB sticks' out there (10€ is the typical price)

C) The sticks come with old, or not licensed WIDCOMM software.

Licensing is why a search for the famous patcher comes back with 'bla bla bla has asked me to remove the patcher from my website...', although a simple search on emule turns up the correct file. However, large when it includes a common distro of the WIDCOMM bluetooth drivers-software.

The bluetooth USB sticks are commodity items, costing probably under 75 cents to manufacture (+ environmental costs). Unlike the old days, this trend is to have cheap hardware, and have an elaborate 75 megabyte software which 'enables' it to do all sorts of things.

Definitely read the PDF guide in the previous posts in this thread.
