It's ironic that Vertu are made by Nokia, talk about mutton dressed as lamb!

It's not supposed to have specs. Remember, it's all in the price, not in the specs. For that price, it better wipe my @rse automatically... This message was posted from a P800

Well guys, the thing with Vertu is like any other sky-rocket-over-priced human accessory.

I'm not talking about Jaguar, Ferrary, P910i, Rolex and other expensive stuff, which are still 'accessible' and justify their price, as there is a quite large class of people that can buy these.

But imagine those few people, for example, in the world's Top100, shopping for a phone. Imagine the Sultan of Brunei choosing a mobile. I would laugh at his image with a 6600 or a P900 in his hand. I mean, guys, every year he buys tens of custom-made luxury cars (http://autozine.kyul.net/article/brunei/sultan.htm - just a few of them) and you would ask why he would buy an Verto? I start to wonder even Verto is good enough for him, it's like you going out and buying a pair of socks. If I were his business partner and his phone wouldn't cost an inimaginable amount of money, I would just think that he's going down and I would stop doing business with him.

A friend of mine had once the occasion to enter in a high-society circle, and the expensive cars and accessories were mandatory, their absence would have been judged as a sign that the business is not doing well. I mean, they were forced to spend money as crazy.

So, in fact, an useless, ugly, stupid and terrible expensive phone for us can be a must for others

@ovidiugm

Money is absolutely no measure of class. There is a very real difference between those who have lots of money and those who have lots of class; no amount of money can by class. The real upper echelons of society really do not care about such things as what car one drives, or what brand of clothing one buys; they may very well appreciate nice things, but they do not judge people by such things or live thier lives by those measures.
