After having said I would wait until I saw some reviews of the S700 I have done no such thing as I am now the proud owner of a brand new S700. I was informed that I had bought the very last S700 the CPW had in Scotland. Once I had actually handled it I knew I just had to have it.

@scotsboyuk
You are a weak man! After saying so strongly that you were going to wait, all it took was to play with one for you to hand over your credit card.
I must say that I dont blame you. It is an amazing phone.

Have been to 11 phone stores today in my area(CPW,The Link, Phones4u, 2 Orange stores, T-Mobile,Vodaphone, O2, Dixons, and 2 chain stores) looking for a leather case for my S700. Out of the 11 stores only 2 recognised the phone (The Link and Phones4u). All the others asked what it was or what does it do.
The staff at the link just stood there open mouthed and one attendant said "do you realise that your holding a work of art there"
The girl in phones4u nearly wet herself when she saw the S700.

Didn't get a case though

From what I was told by these stores their release dates are:-

CPW-4 weeks time (accessories 1 week after that)

The Link and Vodaphone- Next week

Phones 4 u - She was too excited to tell me. Just escaped with my arm intact

T-Mobile- Next year (Bloke looked very stoned)

Orange- 2-8 weeks time once they've all had the training to use the phone

Dixons- "S700 ? We do camera cases" was the response as he tried to sell me an oversized digital camera hold all. Should have seen the look on his face when I said I will just buy 4 AAA batteries instead

Bear in mind that this is what I was told in the stores in my area and may be different elsewhere.

When I asked in the link about a week ago about the s700, the guy behind me told me it didnt exist and that I meant the K700. When I said I dont want a K700 but I do want an S700 he said I was mistaken and implied that I didnt know what I was talking about.
Might go in this week and show him what I was talking about and that he was wrong and not me!

@jcwhite_uk

I seem to recall reading similar anecdotes concerning other mobiles in the past. It seems that the shop staff like to insist that their customers are mistaken and that those products don't exist; it's good to see such a high level of training and enthusiasm.
