Nope, still:

Thank you for using Sony Ericsson Update Service!

O2 would save a lot of headaches by letting us use this service.

its not just this that makes it rediculous. what makes it even more stupid is the fact that some o2 users HAVE been able to update their phones using it so it isnt fair on the others that cant!

The o2 users that have successfully updated don't have true branding (startup/shutdown logos and menu icons).

I got my K700i in the mail today, and it is o2 branded (sucks for me). A master reset has cleared up a lot of the slowness, but I still want the damn thing updated (and preferably unbranded) ASAP. So far I am really impressed with this phone!

It sucks when you own the greatest SE service utility on Earth (Fighter), and still can't flash this little sucker...

Oh well worth a try, my desk looks a whole lot more stylish now though

EDIT: Email now sent to O2 demanding an answer as to why it doesn't work. If all else fails I'm sure i can rig some kind of spam attack to them with the same question about 1000 times

If someone can bother to write a letter on this thread we could bombard them with it from different people.

Strength in numbers?

What about an online petition? I'm sure we could get lots of sigs then?

I'll look into it.

Direct Line telephone number for O2's Data Support Team is: 0906 895 0504

However, this is a PREMIUM RATE NUMBER, so only call if you don't mind paying 50p a minute, (or your boss doesn't!).

Last time I called, they called me back twice because they couldn't get an quick answer, so they shouldn't leave you on hold for long.

They are definately the people to talk to as they actually appear to know what they are talking about, whereas the frontline Customer Support people only seem to know basic stuff about phone/account usage.
