i had a similar problem too...
the airtel tower near my place didn't have gprs signal on it.. but if i move to another one, it used to work.
get it checked again though

let me get this... airtel masala was changed to live.. am i correct? and mms is in another profile.... i am now accessing all site using masala.. if i use a gprs modem i can browse the net... rite???? why do i need mobile office??? how is it different??? what am i missing???

Airtel Masala is now airtel live . You CANNOT access net through pc with Masala or live. You need to pay for it and that service is known as mobile office. Masala and live can be used to access wap only . Previously it was 600rs pm for mob office and not sure about current charges in kerala .

govigov u need a different authentication protocol as provided by airtel to surf the web via computer.
u need some extra settings...
