got my orange p910 today -paid £150 cash, getting £75 credit to my account later this month.

Got the phone on orange premier £63 a month, free orange care, free 4mb gprs, 400 cross network calls, 400 evening cross network calls, and upgrade after 9 months!

I'm happy!

Order a 512 duo pro card- also getting GPS in the next few weeks.

My upgrade to an Orange P910i (direct from Orange) cost me £399. I was on a £25 per month tariff at the time, plus another £10 per month for a Line 2 tariff, plus text msg and data add-ons, bringing my monthly spent to between £60 and £80 typically.

Have I been shafted??

And -- has anyone got the Orange Sync service to work with this device? I know the P910i isn't officially supported on this service yet, but I'd naively assumed that the settings for the P900 would suffice (assuming the SyncML software on both phones was the same).

Sadly, they don't (for me at any rate!). I get a connection, then a brief "Reading" message, then "Synchronisation failed" Any advice would be welcomed. Was kind of relying on it working since all the data from my old T610 is still up there!

@scormie

Hello mate & welcome to Esato.

To put it very bluntly, you have been shafted - that is the most I have heard anyone paying for it. I spend about the same as you each month, yet I'm on a 400 min tariff and am a "Premier Customer" (extra fiver a month from the standard plan, includes Care [insurance] some GPRS, business customer services and an early upgrade [9 months]. So, I guess that proves that it's more about your tariff than your monthly spend!

As regards SyncML, I could never get it to work on my P900, but I assumed that it was a firmware issue (as my 900 was unbranded) - I'm hoping that when the 910i is supported, it should work this time round.

BTW, don't be too gutted about the price - at the end of the day, you've still got the best phone on the market!

No matter now about the lack of support for the P910i on the Orange Sync service -- tried out the (free) equivalent at www.mobical.net last night, and what a treat it is!

Worked first time with the auto settings provided, is quick, seemingly solid, and the web interface is substantially better than Orange's IMHO.

Remote synchronisation of Calendar, Task and Contact items -- 'Remote Sync' on the applications list. Data is written to and from the service provider's server remotely via GPRS (or CSD) from the phone, and is viewable on a PC via web browser screens.

At its basic level, it's just another form of backup for the phone, but you may also choose to use the browser-based service as your primary input via a PC, and keep the phone synced with that.
