Hmmm . . . could it be the LCD
Or the 'red line' ONLY appears when taking some shots with the cam? If the 'red line' stays there everytime, I guess it could JUST be the LCD . . .

As most people have said.
If it's not lens flare (light source in front or beside you) then it must be a faulty line on the light sensor itself.
Are you able to post a pic of the fault on here at all?

I think the pic in good lighting are quite acceptable. The distortions/specks in the first one are quite normal for poor lighting. I think the line isn't really that bad it could actually be worse in ceratain cases -- images taken in poor lighting are generally not so good anyway IMO.

the second picture was took with the house light on.
but the first picture, thats a pretty bad looking line, don't you think?

I was actually expecting a more prominent line. For me this line is no cause for an alarm considering the level of the camera that is in the K700i. I normally don't use the camera in poorly lit environments. Anyway we'll just wait what SE has to say.

just spoken to Se on the phone and a line shouldn't be visible at all, and it seems there must be a fault

@pmp2kool - The 1st image was taken in the SEPIA mode (color) right, back then, I am getting some slight distortions like this one, the 2nd image (normal/colored) is quite acceptable as @blackspot have mentioned. As I have made notice, the SE K700i does not perform well in dark places when taking images at that - discos etc.even when the flashlight is turned ON Have you tried taking images with the NIGHT MODE cam feature ON
Honestly, when I am taking pics INDOORS - even when there is a GOOD presence of light, I always SEE to it that the NIGHT MODE is turned ON, but when taking OUTDOORS, of course, NIGHT MODE is OFF. Try it again, SEPIA - NIGHT MODE - ON mate, let's SEE the difference. I agree with @blackspot, as there is NO cause for an alarm with these IMAGES!
