I don't know why you are trying to compare the different things like se 910 and nokia 9500.se is smart and nokia is communicator. It depends on you what you need.Think both devices are good.

I have the I-Mate PDA2k (aka XDA III). I can atest that it falls short of a top of the line PPC. It's has quadband which is the only true plus I can find for a Windows run machine.

The I-Mate battery will last one day if you are lucky, I guess you should keep a charger at home, office and car.

i had i-mate pda2k and i sold it after 10 days ...maybe it's a good PPC but it's useless for me as a phone...
So now i have a P910i good in size very user friendly ..the only thing i miss is the wifi ....

I bought the imate for a friend and i have the p910i, in a quick comparison the imate is a pda with a telephone attached to it, it has a very userfriendly OS (microsoft) and as usual it is not that stable and there are not so much 3rd party apps for it.
You can not easily add a ring tone or assign a messaging account but it will synchronize with outlook in a glance without any problems.
on the other hand the p910 is a phone with the pda features added to it as well as the possibility to add hundreds of 3rd party software and utilities which can personalize your phone and the way you want it to be.
I made my choice, and got the p910 and not the i-mate and will still do it again even after the qtek 9090 ......
