If you know you will be able to get the original f/w then the k700 is definately better but I personally wouldn't ever buy a phone with such branded f/w. Plus you got the horrid black box and the useless manual that just tells u about Orange instead of the phone!

vanquish dude, im tellin you get the K700i! I had one since its day of relaease until yesterday when I finally got a p900 (the moment was so joyful, it felt like SE was a religion!) and now my k700 is in its box ready to sell.
Incidently I did the firmware upgrade and the battery life is better, so you could get the newst pure SE firmware on and have a great phone with a halfway decent battery!
Make the choice. Or you could just get a classic retro T610! Somedays you dont want smart phone, u want retro. A T68 might be better though...
Anyway, Get the K700i! Best choice.

stick with your k500. i sold my k700i and bought an s700. really didnt like the k700 at all, even after the software upgrade. my hand used to ache after using it to type a text or play a game. bought 2 k500s for christmas presents for my mum and dad. from what i can see, the only extras the k700 have over thr k500 are bluetooth, radio and more memory.
