Went to buy a V800 this morning but the local 3g mast is being worked on (typical !) hence Vodaphone shop could not demo 1 for me. Could anybody with a V800 advise me what using Vodaphone 3g is like ?, speed ect..

Thanks

Mark

First impression for myself is that the phone is pretty much as I expected. I'm not used to using a clamshell phone so it's taking me a while to feel comfortable holding the phone. The camera is disappoiting, but of course I never expected it to be like an S700. It may as well have just been VGA.

The lower half of the phone feels nice and slim, because there's a lot packed in the top half. Maybe a little bit top heavy for my liking.

Having briefly had a Voda branded K700 I can say that the V800 software is definitely less "Vodafone". Actually, I'm enjoying using Live! given that unlimited access is included in the tariff for free, along with the news in video & movie trailers. The Media player works well for both video and music. Not had chance to use a video call yet - not many people around to call! Also, my home appears to be just on the fringe of a 3G transmitter

I don't know how to post a full size 1.3MP pic here, but here is another sample that's been resized for the forum.

I've not managed to get a 3G signal yet, although I know I'm very close
I downloaded a 1 minute movie trailer from Live! over GPRS and that took about 3 or 4 mins - hopefully it'll come over in real time when I get nearer to a 3G transmitter. Will try that tonight.

I ordered mine this morning and should get it tomorrow, but I was just wondering if you could post a quick picture of what the external display is like with the camera activated (like a self portrait). I saw this in a Samsung E700 and thought it was quite good. Is the quality on the external screen picture taker as good as any other 65k screen? Also, are the menus animated like in the videos shown on clubsonyericsson.com, and have Vodafone put more than just one theme on the phone?

Cheers m8!
