I believe it will not work on V802 at all. Only tones purchased from Vodafone will.
I've found that converting most MP3's will work - however some mp3's do convert but the phone then refuses to play them. Not sure what was wrong with the original mp3 though.

I used the DRM packager with it default settings.. although as I have Mac OSX I had to go via Virtual PC & Bluetooth.
For anyone unfamilair with the process (they may be an easier way) it took me all day to get this MP3 ringtone!!!
1. downloaded the audio file (TV Theme) added to iTunes and converted to MP3
2. dragged the MP3 (from the music folder) into VPC
3. added file to the DRM packager and pressed convert (i changed the output destination to the desktop)
4. dragged the new file name.dm back to the Mac desktop
5. used Bluetooth file Exchange to browes the V800 - navigating to the Sound folder on the phones memory
6. dragged the new '.dm' file into the window.... transfered to phone
7. set as ringtone
Done!
As for Software Updates, Sony is very annoying, they do not have a Mac OSX version of the udates & although I have VPC, I dont have the USB Flash cable. Does anyone know if the update can work via Bluetooth?
Cheers
