@o2, agreed. it was one of the first things I noticed but establishing whether it is documented somewhere may confirm that it is something which was planned or is planned in a future firmware release
sure, it doesn't work now, and I could probably care less since I decided not to keep the V800, but thats not the case because I am interested to follow the way Sony Ericsson are progressing with their phones in general and missing such obvious items as this gives me some concern
I could also say the same abou Motorola and V3 where they have neglected to include a video recorder which seems standard these days so while I am not trying to focus on the individual items I am keen to monitor trends

right mate, but I've read the manual cover-to-cover and it is not stated anywhere that it should be able to display caller ID picture....... in other words it can't and it probably never will.
imho....

k i realised updating firmware is really important for most of u guyz... but does it really really make a big difference?? things like providing picture id, full screen video playback, DRM removed, will that be likely to included in upcoming updating firmwares...
or firmware juz correct some bugs, doesnt really include new features like wat i satetd above...

Might be. i'm dfairly sure it's technically possible and it's undoubtedly in demand.

full screen video playback
Doubt it. I don't mind playback at 176*144 too much anyway, now that I've tried it a few times.

NOT A CHANCE
Vodafone will stick to the DRM protection and probably use it on MORE files rather than less. Soon you'll see themes will require DRM.
Then again... it is not totally impossible that other providers and even phone manufacturers might follow their lead in the near future.
Don't count on it to ever disappear again.

That's what new fw usually does. Can't say I've encountered any major bugs though, phone does pretty much what it's supposed to do.

Thats the way to get extra money from us, you must pay to get a mp3 from them once you go to Vodafone Live wap places, till now cause we can use the sw to aloud our mp3 to get into ringtones.

Discussion on the drm sw provided by SE is all over, we can put any mp3 on K700 or V800 with that sw
