Maybe the only reason to get partnership is the bt, til today the south-korean wonder fones dont have it. Next to it se could teach them that with irda can be send pix, melodies etc not just contacts. Its a sad thing to release fones in 2004 without those features, at least some of their models

Doesn't sound liek too much to get worked up about yet.. its not like they've said "Welcome to SonyEricSung" after all.
If it brings more gizmos and gadgets and usable things to

phones we all win.

I'm pretty sure if sony & samsung were to make a phone, it would be very technologically advanced but would lack the initial style and class of se.

SE has recently also hooked up with Sharp to develop its 3G service.
@brym! I can tell you for sure that in 3 years Indian will surely be apart of SE but not in the way you think. I am sure they will have a call center in Bombay..like every other big company is doing in this day and age.

I think this is jolly good news. Hopefully it will mean better mobiles for us, with more features of a higher qaulity. I don't think we should jump the gun here and presume that there will be a merger, the deal announced seems perfectly logical to me.
Perhaps SE and Samsung have realised that instead of competing with one another they would be better of trying to capture some of Nokia's sales. A partnership to share technology would seem a good move towards doing this.
