Slightly off topic perhaps, but this thread which I have been following with interest, is beginning to confirm in my mind the view that SE will soon have to drop Memory Sticks.

Hardly any other hardware vendor uses these memory cards, opting mainly for MMC/SD.

Secondly, there is virtually no Memory Stick hardware peripherals like you can get for the SD format (in the form of SDIO cards (Secure Digitial Input Output)).

I was beginning to think that perhaps it is not possible to make Memory Stick hardware peripherals, but given that in this thread I have learnt that there is at least one device out there, that doesn't seem to be an issue.

Finally, in order for the Memory Stick platform to catch up with Secure Digital it will have to (a) have an ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE and SHARP growth in a variety of hardware designed for the platform and (b) Sony will have to allow other manufacturers besides SandDisk and the one other company, whose name I have forgotten, to manufacture these cards. And I reckon that if the growth in available Memory Stick peripherals does not materialise by the end of this year then the Memory Stick platform is dead and we had bettere all start buying devices that don't use Memory Sticks.
