ok I'm not chuffed, tried to open the downloaded file and its just an empty .rar file, is anyone else having this problem?

So in the end, what is the max. resolution of a movie that can be played in S700? Isn't really any of the S700 owners interested about this topic?!!!! ... this is weird.

Its very simple, the S700 max resolution of encoded video is 176x144
It cannot play full screen, or landscape or anything. And there are no player to install to change that. The only small oddity that exist is that if you use PVauthor to encode videos - specifically version 3.0 - theres an error in the encoded headers which somehow fools the player on S700 to play it, not in full screen, but in full width. The error in PVathour has been fixed in later versions, so to create vids that play full widht you need to use version 3.0 and encode them in 176x144.

..days later now I've finally got round to playing with PVAuthor...I've followed all the steps in the link, but PVAuthor will not find .3gp files when browsing my HD. Any ideas?

pvauthor can't convert 3gp files... Their quality is bad, use .avi or another format...

No, max resolution is 176x144 but when encoded with the pv author profile provided earlier it fills out the screen width.... thats as good as it gets though. Bit of a downer really with our phone
