Yeah, i do agree. Being a half baked electronics engineer myself, electronics components have a certain life time wherein they can be continuously working 24x7. There usually is negligible heat dissipated by the ic's themselves. Its usually the speaker that gets warm during conversation. But for optimal battery life, you need to turn off. That is true. You will not wear out the IC's or any other electronic component. The only issue is the wear on mechanical parts such as the buttons, flip etc. To answer your other question, I am an electronics engineer.

phnoes are always on charge in my flat!
