OK, so do you think they will sort out these problems for the next official release as I am not sure why SE think my phone is now not updateable

First to R1L, and second time to R2AE no problems at all...
Also updated P900 twice, an a P910i once. No problems at all...

... and its allowing you to update again, after previously saying you couldn't.
I have successfully used SEUS before and yet for the last few weeks its been telling me I can't because my operator doesn't allow it. (Which is ridiculous, since its an unlocked phone that I have updated via SEUS before.)
Anyway, that's fixed now. Its allowing updates again.

Done my P910i with no problems & bought a K700i 2 days ago and updated firmware straight out of the box with no problems, all went smooth.
I must say I'm bloody impressed with the K700i reminds me of my first T68 but with lots of bells & whistles. Even making me consider using it over my P910i !!!
