@vogriphach: not really. Li-ion/li-pol batteries are more advanced then the ni-mh one.

i have to say, that according my experiences, nicd and nimh batts were more stable and trustfull, even they were more bigger sized and more heavy. now a days i do prefer li-ion then li pol batts.

@bobafett: i don't say they were crap, but you could charge them only when they were emty, now you can charge the li one anytime you want ;-)

I have actually tested this: i got one of my friends T230, fully charged it for 5 hours and decided to see for how many hours it lasts. I used the phone in between for some calls but nothing else. That thing lasted for 26 days! Then when i tried to charge it, i noticed that the charging had become very slow. Infact, it took more than 12 hours to charge it fully. After fully charged, the battery began performing normally.

its a universal rule of this world..Never Over Do Any Thing...!
Over re-charging will eventually damage either the battery or the adapter..!
Plus for all you people who are on the run, its advisable to buy an emergency mobile charger which runs on 4 pencil cells and is size of a pager to re-charge your phone anywhere and anytime for 20 Min..Talk-time,,Not bad I say....

i dont know about SE phones but my mum owns a *coughnokiacough*. she forgot that she had it on charge and only remembered about it the following day. it was her charger that got busted.

Li-Ion/Polymer batteries don't have memory effect and will not get damaged if you don't fully charge/discharge it. I do that a lot with my previous phone, like when I'm in the car I charge it while driving and when I reach home I unplug it, and now after 5 years, my nephew is using it and the batteries still last about 90% of it's original capacity.
Li-based battery technology is different and in fact they last longer if you keep them operating within 40% to 95% charge. Overcharging and total discharging will shorten their life but phones/chargers are already equipped with circuits to prevent this. So there should be no problem (although pointless also) keeping it in the charger for a long time.

k another question... when u 1st bought the phone.. how long does it take for a safe full charge, when its charging for the 1st time? I heard it shud be around 8hrs of charge, b4 u can actually on the phone... anyone can confirm this... thanx q!
