Double standards at play yet again,by the U.S and blair,Israel can arm itself to the teeth with nukes and yet Iran can't even have nuclear energy,what a bl**dy joke!

I think you are forgetting something here, Israel is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran is. Iran hid its enrichment programme for years, which has obviously raised suspicions. The Iranian government now claims that it is operating within the NPT, but of course the fact that its enrichment programme was hidden does cast a shadow over the matter.

Added to this is the hardline stance taken by President Ahmadinejad against Israel. Israel is a close ally of the U.S. and the U.S. will seek to protect its allies, hence it should come as no surprise that the U.S. would seek to stop Iran from gaining the ability to enrich uranium to a point where it could possibly construct a nuclear weapon.

On the one hand it can be seen as hypocritical that the West doesn't criticise India, Israel and Pakistan over their nuclear programmes when they do criticise other countries, but in terms of realpolitik it is understandable.

Yeah . . . yeah . . .yeah and remember how those 6 man did last 9/11 where they 'almost' . . . 'almost' change the history of the US had that plane (3rd one), reached the - White House ! US is still vulnerable then and perhaps till . . . . now . . .

if I were the terrorist onboard the plane on 9/11, I Will keep flying the plane rounding near us vital asset until us fighter jet shot the hijacked plane (i think they will) with full of their own ppl on it!
im sure US govt get enough protest coz they murdering their own ppl. geez i hate US govmt when they start talkin about "HUMAN RIGHT" meanwhile themself violating it!

@786KBR: The Saudi's won't 'step in' apart from expressing their unhappiness and allowing their citizens to take part in staged protests...That's about it. If it were not for the Americans the Saud dynast would've been overthrown long ago.

I'm really looking forward to see how America and her allies will deal with this one because unlike Iraq, Iran's military capability is perhaps the best in the Middle East with the exception of Israel. Launching strikes should be relatively easy but getting US Rangers in their could be nigh impossible.

I also find the purpose of these possible strikes to be hypocritical but America deems that it can't trust the nutcases in Iran to have nukes.
