Do you really think they came up with 7210 and 6610 in just one year just because SE had released their T68?? Slightly naive...

well if it's not because of T68 nokia would not have launch the 7210 or 6610 for at least another couple of years even if they are ready. in fact what you will get is 8311, 8312, 8313 with minor upgrades from 8310. Slightly naive...

Personaly i don't think the 6610 really has that much over the T68i having been looking into it for a friend it seems to me to be the phone equivalent of a hairdressers car, while it may look good and appear to be well stocked it really has no where near the amount of real potential that a proper car/phone has.

So what you're saying is that Nokia INTENTIONALLY holds back technology to sucker their consumers into paying more for a low tech phone? (8910 come to mind???)

The 6610 is a decent phone for the average person. It has enough features to keep most people content for quite a while... nice ringtones, VERY nice screen, and thank GOD it's finally tri-band. GPRS, Java and MMS. Most people won't even be able to find enough time to learn how to use most of those features!

If I had no phone at the moment, I would choose the 6610 over the T68i... IF it was the same price. I do like the 6610 over the pathetic 7650... dual-band, limited memory, in a phone THAT big?

I'd recommend the 6610 to anyone who wants a feature phone, not that picky about size, and doesn't want to pay for technology he/she doesn't intend to use.

Yeah but the 7650 has only what a memory of 3.5mb? The p800 has 12mb internal and another 16mb from the memory stick.

It seems like a nice phone. The Java is a nice touch.
Tri-band, cool!

I got my T68 because i wanted a tri-band phone for when I travel to the US for a wedding on August 21st. If I had waited on Orange to bring out the 6310i I would be growing rather nervous now as they still haven't managed to pull their finger out and get it released.

As for the 6610. No doubt it will take the muppets at Orange UK months if not years to bring it out on Orange.

Nice phone, nice technology. Shit network!

Counting the days until I leave this crap network!

i still love my T68i no doubt and for now the 7650 is top surely until the p800 will come and knock it off top position as i said the 7650 and p800 are in another category, the T68 can compare with 6610 and 7210

If they had been ready, Nokia would have launched them shortly after T68 especially given the hype created by a small color (not that much, but color anyway) screen.
Nokia has certainly learnt a lot from 7110 that was the very first phone supporting wap for a loooooong time. But network support and services were almost inexistent when that phone was launched.... Look also at Motorola with their GPRS phones... No network supported GPRS, but they had it in their phone. The result was low sales for GPRS devices at that time.
Nokia came up with MMS phones (with color or not) in the same timeframe as deployment of MMS in the networks. They were not ready with MMS a year ago, neither was Ericsson.
Ericsson didnt manage to launch the T68 as MMS capable, although claimed as is, because MMS was simply not ready. Though they scored a point with the success of a small color screen. And all were surprised of such a success

actually when i buy the t68 i wasn't after the mms thingy. i was more interested in the design, the color screen and tones of function inside. now compare it to the nokia 8310 when it was launch around the same time as t68. nokia could have implemented 8310 with a 256 color screen cos t68m was announced like way back at least 9 months before it is in the shop. all nokia care about is to remake it's 8210 into 8310 with tiny changes. that's why i said if it's not becos of t68 you probably still be dreaming of a 256 color phone to be released in the next couple of months.
