@ryan: I don't think this is a problem you should accept. My old t68m worked perfectly after the repair and my new t68i has never had the problem. Go to the service center and explain your problem to a technician. Refer to this correspondence if necessary.

It is good to hear that I'm not alone with this problem. Annoying it is. However, I have never any problem with making calls, so I don't know if the hardware problem is the same as the one solved problem of jas.
Another problem is that I lost my phone in a lake earlier this summer, so I guess that my varranty has disappeared. Just to mention it, the problem was present before the phone swim, and also before I updated the software from R2M to R3B.K.A.

just to chip into this discussion, i had a t28 for a while which developed a fault after i'd had it for a couple of weeks. it would just turn itself off at random times and pretty much everytime i tried to make a call or send an sms. apparently it was a problem with power accumulation or something. anyway, it got replaced - not repaired, so it must have been a pretty serious fault. apparently this was quite common on the t28.
maybe ericssons quality control department are a bit shit or something.
@bobahiom, are you in Hull UK? cos i am.

Well I mentioned the N400 component failure to the local SE people and they still believe that the failure to receive calls is a Network issue which they are trying to resolve. The interesting thing is that the fault develops because the handset fails to renew its registration with the Cell switch. So if puzzles me why SE think that its a network problem. Surely that fault has to be in the handset.
Like others I have never had any trouble making calls. Even when the receive fault is present, initiating a call simply forces reregistration and the T68m(i) starts to work normally until the next failure. I suspect that more people have this fault than is realised. It only comes to light when you start to question why you are getting voicemail notifications immediately after making a call and its the only call you made all day.
The more people that look for this fault the better.

Hello!
Iīve got the same kind of problem:
I use two different sim cards from two different operators.
When I use one card, the phone works fine. The other card inserted, I canīt receive a calls when the phone has been unused for a couple of minutes. However it doesnīt bother me much since I use this sim only for GPRS since this operator offers it for free.
Itīs just for information.

@Epedemic. Can you ellaborate on the base stations. Perhaps I can try and find out. It would help if I could perhaps mention some types of base station in case they have no idea what I am talking about (which in this case is true)...
