I will try to take a night shot comparison, but it might take sometimes.

My recent conclusion of making pictures using those phone cam - please be noticed that i did not test those at 'all' condition so the result may vary; and it did not include the advanced setting S700 have such as spot photometry and exposure setting - :

a. Nokia 6630 produce overall sharper image than S700i. S700 has more sensitive sensor so you have hold still when taking picture with S700.
b. Another good point of N6630 it has better noise reduction algorithm than S700. Almost the picture i took has no noise. S700 in some condition still have some noise.
c. All the picture i have taken with N6630 has annoying blueish tint. I said all i mean "ALL". And it seems i cannot get rid of them manually (changes place with different lighting). S700i has truer color balance and you got that with 'auto' setting. If you choose 'manual' setting with presets the result is more acurate. N6630 does not have manual setting for the white balance.
d. The results from the N6630 view finder and the final file looks different. It proves that N6630 has more 'processing' the image, especially to its sharpness. The result the file is much bigger than S700i, almost doubled.
S700 has done nothing to its sensor data and save it directly after you took them.

Some note about N6630 processing the image :

I try to manipulate the 6630 pic on my PC but the result is horrible. Using Noiseware program will make the picture a bit blur and loosing it sharpness. It seems that N6630 has done some picture and sharpness algorithm right away after you take the shot. If you notice the picture in the viewfinder and the picture after you take the shot is different. The later has more sharpness than when you saw it through viewfinder. That makes the final file is already "well done". It also make pic of N6630 too much 'digitized'.

S700 is a lot easier to manipulate (since is half-done) and produce better results than N6630 especially if you use Noiseware. Doing anything with the PC will make better result than directly from the phone.

Well, it has good and bad points. I usually like to manipulate my cam pics through my PC and find the pic of 6630 is a bit difficult to manipulate. The good point is the result is already 'manipulated from the sensor' so you have better pictures (in term of sharpness) and you can use it right away.

If you take your N6630 to nearest photo booth to print, its operator will try to change the contrast and white balance with the file. Let them do the job.

If you take your S700 to nearest photo booth to print, its operator will try to change the contrast and white balance with the file. "Do not let them change anything" especially the contrast. S700 has better contrast already.

To my experience, photo booth from Kodak is the best match for S700i. I tried the one from Fuji Film and the result is not as satisfying as Kodak.

You can use N6630 to any photo booth, but you still have that blueish thing. Photo booth (at least in my country) only have contrast and brightness settings. N6630 sharpness has given some odd effect. If you print it from photo booth, some picture will look "water painted".

Right. But i think for some regular user, they will prefer the result from 6630. Yes it has blueish thing, but some only 'appear' if you compare it to 'real' digital camera or compare it with the result from S700.

S700 has a nice set of feature such as spot photometry, exposure EV settings and white balance (which i really like). Plus a photo light (which only useful in short distance- really dark environtment). But to my personal opinion S700 is lack of two important programs for its camera software.

First, they should have some kind of software layer to adjust picture's sharpness or to make it auto. S700 tends take the results 'plainly' from the sensors or only modify it a little. For me it is acceptable, but for others maybe not. Some will like to print the result to a bluetooth printer or phone booth without the need to adjust the picture with a PC first. I think most people will prefer sharpness than 'not so accurate' white balance.
I have to tell you, print it direcly and the result from N6630 will look better than S700. It even looks better in computer screen. S700 result tends to look worse in CRT screen.
This condition makes me suspicious about the next hype that SE plan to their future handphones, that is "Auto Focus" statement in K750. Since the lens in K750 is a fixed focus one, i bet the Auto Focus 'thing' will run in software. Why on earth they did not implement it in S700 or their older generations?

Second, SE has treated noise in the camera badly. I had known this since MCA 25 (and get worse in T610 or T630 and even did not change in K700). If you're exposed to a low light condition, you will almost certainly have a noise. Dont get me wrong, ANY camera will produce a noise if there is unadequate source of light, but certainly you can do something about this in software level (some camera treated noise differently). Nokia (in 6630 or older line) has a good job in their phone camera program to reduce this. I think most of us will prefer a noise free picture.
That makes me suspicious again, if in the future SE will repair this condition but implement it to their new product line "only". Maybe they will be another " Auto Night Focus" or " Free Noise Tech" or whatever, whereas that is just a noise reduction program embedded into new handset- like allegedly "Auto Focus" in K750.

Kodak photo booth has a good detection to noise and if you print the picture from S700 it will looks less grainy than other photo booth i tried. N6630 wins because it has managed the noise and sharpness better. N6630 do the colors crap, but only some people will notice.

If you 'cook' the picture from both S700 and 6630 in a PC, S700 will win in the final result. But who want to do this hassle? Regular user? I dont think so.

S700 sold cheaper than N6630 in my country with small increment(Rp 4,2 mio versus Rp. 4,9 mio). But S700, being as non-smartphone type (with its limited SMS and phonebook capacity), has to be excel in its camera feature. Dont get me wrong, i am not comparing between 'different kind of thing', it is just that there is too much competition in this line to be ignored. And i dont see S700 as a good killer to N6630.

To my opinion S700 might win some serious user with some digital photography experience but other will prefer N6630. This shows Nokia's intelligence in consumer behaviour strategy. They tend to ignored some serious camera feature but focus only in few simple features but fastly recognized and important : sharpness and noise.

I have an s700i for a few months now. And my sis has a N6630. Both take great pics but s700i has more photo options to make photos look better. One of my fave pics taken by my s700i

sap is right, 6630 had better imaging software but the color is blusih, btw, sap, what imaging engine do u use to enhance ur photos in ur computer, i only use adobe photoshop and the more i sharpen it, the more noise comes out... but i like s700 more than 6630, s700 looks more like a high end camera rather than a celphone, which is why i dont like k750 and w800, they look more like 6630 and 6680 competitors in terms of shape.. simple, but catchy... and btw, nice pix!

I just using a photoshop and Noiseware. I use photoshop to make the picture sharper (using sharpness layer). But mostly using noiseware only already make the picture much better. I need the sharpness for occassion where i think the picture is not properly focused.

Most of the time i only use Noiseware. It is a must before you go printing the file.

I dont use the noise reduction program in Photoshop. I tried the one from ACDC. Nothing come close to the result from Noiseware. (This is only my little experiment. I dont test all of the noise reduction program available. Some might better than Noiseware.)

I agree, Photoshop's noise reduction is more difficult to handle and quite limited. I prefer to use Neat Image and the results are really great.
