I like it but...
The overall design looks a bit "cheap" and I am kind of allergic to the sliding/rotating/flipping keyboards...
Anyway, looks like a great phone, no doubt about it. Would it be possible to have a little more specs about this device?
I kinda think that looks a little more at the "classy" side of the design (at least in some models ) in Europe, whereas it looks much more at the specs in Jp.
Personally I like the design of some models (like K750 K600) but they lack a bit of features. Japanese phones, on the opposite, have everything you might dream of, but have a design I don't necessarily like much.

Is it just me or anyone else agrees?
(mumble mumble... From the comments there are up to now I'll probably be the only one with these thoughts... )

I posted that pic with black S0506i to show you Sony headphones for SE phones, and seem that will be compatible with new SE conector (K750, W800)

@ pinolo. I know what your mean. The design of the Euro models tends to be more understated but at the same time Japanese handsets seem to be absolutely loaded with every possible feature.

I think SE has come to the conclusion that Western Customers are more likely to be technophobes and are less likely to be attracted to a handset loaded with extra featrues, hence the S700i does not have as many features as its Japanese Ancestor.

according to engadget.com
"A nasty reminder of Sony’s recent past is in store in the fine print, though; the W31S ”supports MP3” in that way that only Sony can—you run your MP3s through SonicStage and turn them into ATRAC3."

That looks very good, I also like the solution with the extra button/mic so you can control the player and have a mic so you can use your own headphones. That makes it a real Walkman.
Even though slider=samsung nowadays, SE again shows to have the cleanest design.

I doubt that the ATRAC-only joke will make it to Europe. Sony has already given up on trying to put the atrac as a closed system here buy opening up their network player for regular mp3's. They'd better try to make devices everybody wants instead of taking customers that dread buying a Sony hostage.

What I'd like most is a device that allows you to listen to your iPod or other multi-gb-dedicated mp3player and connects to your phone, be it a add-on on the player to send the music via bluetooth to the phone or the other way round. Now THAT would be something Sony and SE could try to work out.

Are these real products? Why are the earphones Sony only? Nevertheless, this is a good design.

@golden:

I dont think they think of us as technophobes. If you look at the various cool things in the phone they also have to be supported by others.

I've asked here about if we'll ever see the ability for our phones to pay for things like the japanese models do and was advised that its not so the phone as it is having the support behind it for it to be of any use. Banks here are aparently reluctant.

Still, pretyt cool, the only thing i don't like is guestimating that the remote cord is somewhat long and given how long headphone cords are, using the remote as a hands free (you can see the mic hole) is going to have you covered in a rats nest of cables.

I'd LOVE to see the current head phones have the 3.5mm jack at the hands free mic part (ie as a jack on the top of the mic) that way its not bulky and ugly looking.
