when i read the thread title i thought it would be a display that reacts to brightness in the environment eg. in really bright sunlight it changes somehow to make the display readable and changes again when its dark.
now THATS what we really need!
this is just a gimmick.

gotta say, it is preety cool!!! but the damn thing, i am thinking is, can the changing wallpaper can be addded to a k700 by a simple firmware upgrade.

@Nature

concerning your last suggestion, it should not be to difficult to implement with standard components. Light sensors are not exactly a new invetion. Street and garden light are areas where this technique is already used.

Think moto also has a mobile phone where the key light is regulated by a light sensor.

i hope it works better than the ones implimented on certain tvs as it utter rubbish you end up with a un watchable screen as it adjusts brightness and contrast to silly levels.
seems a bit of a gimmick to me not something i would have much use for but can see other people would like it so as long as we get a chose i dont really mind

I think its pretyt cool
Will I use it? Maybe for a week, i'm REALLY picky when it comes to my themes and look of the phone. (Whoever did the very cool and dark graveyard theme for the K700i has my praise)

@vlammetje:
I don't know, this could make your theme work ALOT easier. bring up themecreator, save it after having done 0 work and then release it with instructions about turning on the feature. Instant seasonally designed theme!

I doubt would not have an off option for this, almost everything else can be turned off after all.

I think its going to be a lot simpler than we think as in,

u turn on the camera and point it and click theme adjust or something.

Because a cam on all the time, battery mania,

On thinking about it, I'd imagine will also disable the feature when the keylock is on, to stop the black pocket theme syndrome mentioned above.
