Good job we are now using li-polymer then. Although this is technically lithium ion polymer. The great advantage of this format is "no memory" meaning you charge it when you want for however long you want and the battery will not suddenly decrease in capacity.

I am aware of the type of batteries in use today. And my statement applies to lithium-poly batteries. Lithium batteries (even lithium-ion) are memory free. However they still have a life cycle mate. From wikipedia: "Li-Poly had a greater life cycle degradation rate. However, in recent years, manufacturers have been declaring upwards of 500 charge-discharge cycles before the capacity drops to 80%" So as you can see even lithium batteries become unchargeable eventually. The reason is not memory affect, but degradation of the lithium chemistry of the battery.
Memory affect is not related to the lifecycle of a battery. memory affect is where the battery becomes unchargeable BEFORE the batteries life cycle is complete, and can be rectified with battery conditioning. Modern lithium batteries are memory free, only NiCad and Nimh batts suffer the memory affect. Lifecycle on the otherhand is the amount of charging the chemistry can withstand before it has broken down into compounds that are unable to hold a charge. EVERY battery eventually suffers this fate.
So these new batts will be even better than the LITHIUM-POLY batts, They last a shitload longer, charge in less than 2% of the time of LiPoly, and as the technology matures, will hold more charge than LiPoly.
