I have a question regarding the device, does it come with all the wires or is it just a dock where I use the wires I currently have ?

Hi Masseur! A couple of questions here I think we all potential buyers will appreciate...:

1) When you deck-in the phone, does it gets charged via USB or via the charger? How does the deck knows you want to charge over USB or chager? I mean... with the current data cable, if you plug your phone off, it starts... and if this dock has the USB attached to it... I only ask because at USB it only gets charged to 85%, while in charger goes up to %100.

2) As stated above... can you turn your phone off, plug it, and it stays off? And if you want to be recognized by the PC?

Thanks; please enlighten our souls!

1) All I can say is that it charges whether you have the charger plugged in, or the USB plugged in, or both. I have no idea of the technical aspects of the circuitry that allows it to decide which to charge from

in regards to only USB charging to 85% (or 89% usually) that was an initial firmware issue that was resolved by latest firmware

2) if you plug the phone in with only the USB cable while off, it turns on. If you plug the phone in with the mains charger connected it stays off.

whether it is on or off on the CDS-60, if it is plugged into the PC it will be recognised and you can transfer stuff either way

this is my general experience and I have just confirmed what I have written by actual test

A couple more according to your answers...

1) I'm (and plan to stay) on R1L002... any idea if it will charge via the charger up to 100% when both are plugged?

2) To your second answer... do you mean that if you deck the phone to the stand being off, while both cables are plugged, it STAYS off and you can STILL access memory stick, phone memory... maybe MyPhoneExplorer and such?

Thanks again mass

masseur, is it a smart accessory for you?
does the phone know it' there or just treats it as a normal charger

@Dan_Aykroyd

1) yes, as long as the charger is plugged in it will charge to 100%

2) yes, though I haven't tried myphone explorer as I use the standard sony ericsson file manager software

@JwY, the phone does not recognise it as anything but a charger as it does not change profile or anything like that so I guess its not a smart accessory
