@residing - Yeah, that's the problem with me pal, as long as I am 'feeling' that my bros here are having some problemos with their fone that I manage to OWN too, I always FEEL that in one way or the other . . . I will be having the same FATE as well - eventually

@donut - I just got it 2 days ago Maybe I'll bring my K700i in the church later to have it blessed by the priest, to remove the EVIL spirits (bugs/poor battery life) the fone has, and to increase it's stand-by time too. I realy do believe in MIRACLES being performed by the priests, of course 'minus' their infidelities with their wives !

Does the T630 happen to have the same joystick problem as the K700i as well?
I really want a K700i and I don't want to pay $240 (USD) for it if it'll 'go bad' in just a couple of months...
And the alternative would be the T630 if not the K700i....
... ... ...Sigh... ... ...
The T630 doesn't seem to be as good as the K700i...you know, screen, camera, uh...yea... features-wise...

Since you all seem to ignore the post from #Residentevil, Ill repeat what he suggested.

Try cleaning it !

I cant beleive this thread. 4 guys sitting around having milk an whinercookies, confirming eachother how horrible the joystick is and how big a problem this is, one of you doesnt have the problem yet but only thinks hes gonna get it cause someone else had it, 2 others dont even have the phone anymore but spare no chance to critisize it (as usual), third one are only thinking of getting it but are now wondering if T630 is better, and only one of you are actually having a small problem. And all of you just totally ignore the obvious as suggested by #Residentevil

Try cleaning it.

Theres nothing wrong with the joystick in k700 in general, its just dust that creeps in. Get it cleaned and it will work fine. Its been said many times. We have 1000 T610's and 500 K700's as companyphones where I work, and none has ever been returned to the dealer with real joystickproblems. The few we have had in the servicedepartment has just been cleaned, after that they worked well again. Its usually a matter of keeping the phone in a suitable antistatic, dustfree, protective phonecase, instead of keeping it in the pocket.

The T630 and K700i are worlds apart. Forget the T630, its old, go for the K700i.

joystick is still better than D-Pads. my PPC has one but i prefer the usability and easy-to-use joystick instead of the old dpads since its hard to move finger over directional buttons to act quickly.
K700i joystick is very handy since it doesn't force you to press it hardly but you can perform actions by moving and pressing it gently.

iac, i prefer the jagged dial button (if i call it correctly) used in some old and new phones such as P800/P900. it's like a dream for a mobile user, isn't it?!

The only ever perfect Sony Ericsson joystick for each phone is the one used in the promotional photos and advertising.

I don't think i've seen a single phone in real life without it having a wonky joystick or button somewhere
