It's been cancelled months ago!

However, it is still listed on the Belgian SE site. But no mention of Edge anymore.

Till half a year back even edge was little known and discussed and implemented so edge phones(or rather lack of them) wasnt really detrimental to se's sales, yet the last quarter was quite bad for them and they even dropped to 6th position. Now they think they can afford catering for niche markets and are showing a total disregard for countries which support edge. Wonder what will happen to them now...they have no edge phones, no 3g smartphones and to top it all their exemplary smart, the p910 has a old vga camera. They seem to be banking excessively on die-hard fans imo.

Gotta reply on this since I am a strong believer and supporter of EDGE
EDGE is growing every day for very good reasons. Do not underestimate the power of EDGE
EDGE can be found e.g. from these carriers in Europe: Orange (France), TIM, TeliaSonera, Elisa, T-Mobile (not in Germany)
Not to mention North and South America and Asia region.
Some carriers will never launch it focusing entirely on 3G deployment.
But 3G will not replace EDGE (data only), let alone GSM. DTM and EDGE will provide what some operators need: service continuity between WCDMA and GSM. EDGE also enables operators that do not have a 3G license to compete in their data offerings.
Activities are also ongoing to evolve EDGE further. EDGE is kicking
I am a bit surprised by

approach when Ericsson is a strong EDGE believer.

I think people in Europe are under a cocoon. There's a big world outside of europe folks! India enough is a big reason to launch Edge equipped handsets! The most pathetic thing is, even die hard SE fans would have no choice but to get a nokia for Edge!
