yes your right, and it proves itself in Amsterdam where the relaxed attitude.
To Quote a major newspaper...
"They also point out that Holland now has the lowest drug-related death rate in Europe and that the number of problem heroin and other addicts has remained stable for years. The average age of a heroin addict in Amsterdam is now 36, some 12 years older than the average for the growing number of hard-drug abusers in Britain.
The Dutch also say that it is mixing with drug dealers rather than the cannabis itself that leads young people to experiment with harder drugs"

Sorry to rephrase, the law is not dropped but casual usage is tollerated. as in there wouldnt be enough police to arrest over 50,000 people so they dont bother. previous years the police have agreed with the organsisers to not arrest people for possession, efectively decriminalising it for the day.
JUST in the areas of the march and rally...
its a strange feeling walking past a policeman puffin away...
a feeling of freedom.
