Damn it...thought i got the bugger, but false alarm again...after the next reboot powermp3 wasn't the guilty one anymore.
I don't get this
Brings me to a question: How can i FORMAT c: ?
Factorysettings left most user-files alone (and obviously didn't helped me at all). How can i get a factory-clean c-drive?

i've got the same problem with my p900. also have powermp3 installed but i don't find a relation between the use of the program and the light problem.
My light problem is a bit different (i think). when in flip closed mode, after some idle time i press some buttons and SOMETIMES the light goes on normally, but most of the times it doesnt. no matter what buttons i press. it always goes back on when i OPEN THE FLIP.
and its the same when im using the p900 in FO mode. well, its MORE annoying because this time it happens when im using it. its like if i stopped touching the screen. the only thing i can do is close the flip and open it again.
by the way, how can you adjust the dimmed light?
umm, this question is a bit offtopic but im new to p900 (used to have a p800 and now i have the p900 as a replacement until i get the p910). im only gonna have it for a couple of days but i tried a firmware upgrade, and the page shows an error about a server failure or something and i cant continue. is that normal? i've heard it happens when they're about to release a new firmware version. what should i do? wait a couple of days or keep trying until i get to connect to the server? (you guys are more experienced than me)
thank you

oh oh. now it also affects the screen. the screen swithes off to save battery after a couple of minutes, and after that it doesnt turn on again (unless you open/close the flip). it happened to me WHILE i was playing a MGS game. the screen turned off (and the game stopped).
damn...

Ouch, even more bad than my own problem...but it's partly the same here. If light wents out in flipclosed, it doesn't always get back on when touching a button or else. Well...mainly it doesn't and only sometimes it does...
Flipopen is no problem (yet *sigh*).
You can set the dimming in the system-settings -> display -> energy -> set light-intensity
(or whatever it's called in english)
Set "light (normal)" to ON instead of auto.
Works ok, but sucks bigtime with frontview's screensaver/lock

wow, my firmware must be really out of date. i can only choose between "always on" "auto" or "off" in Normal or Car mode, and set up the clock or blank screen after some idle time, but nothing about light intensity. am i looking in the wrong place? (screen settings->energy).

i just got the p900, i thought my father had the firmware up to date.
so about the light/screen problem, there must be something we've all done, cause my father has used this phone for almost a year and no problem. why is it happening now to everyone?
whats the app that we have all installed? the only new apps that i have installed are a couple of MGS games, a mophun game and PowerMP3. it may have something to do with that. The problem gets worse after some time with the phone on. when i restart it it doesnt happen untill some time (or after running certain apps?). i dont know, i've tried to track the problem but havnt had the time to do it properly. i'll keep trying.

Oh, dunno the p900, maybe it's a 910-only feature?
What apps...countless, i've tried nearly everything available, would
be hardcore to track the guilty one down

umm, i've uploaded the firmware* although it had the most recent one, and for now its working ok. no problems with the light. but im not 100% sure about this, you know.
* Ive managed to do it although the update service is been f****d up for the last days. and if you have a p910, i recommend you not to do it. (i guess you've already seen this topic
