I agree that it's not just about the CMOS Vs. CCD issue.
I very recommend K750i since it has autofocus and macro mode capability. The macro mode is awesome. I can take sharp images from a distance below 15cm.

But there are some supposed comparison pictures around (maybe in these forums?), and the CCD sensor, if it's for real, doesn't appear to be worth waiting for. If you wait around for vaporware, you'd never buy anything!
the comparison i made.

An idiotic rumour then.

The rumour started on mobile review, that a SE rep told them that later in the year the K750i would come with a new sensor - a CCD one, but would only be released in Russia.
The point is, it was just a rumour that chances are will never come true. Unfortunately 99 out of 100 people on this forum will always believe in the hype (that CCD is better than CMOS) and that they'll be able to pick which sensor they want in their K750i.
Fact is, if SE did replace the sensor, you'd never know unless you stripped the phone down to its component bits and knew what the CCD sensor looked like compared to the CMOS. I doubt anyone on this forum would be able to tell.

It wouldnt make an amazing difference anyway, but ask yourself this. Why would

change something if the phone was already released and already selling well?

To cut costs most likely.
If SE were to use a different component, i doubt it would be to improve the phone but to simply cut production costs in order to make higher profits.
The whole CCD vs CMOS debate is pointless IMO - they're both quite as capable as each other.

Exactly, so why did SE start up the rumour. you never know, maybe one of the guys has a sense of humour and likes to see forumers squabble

I dont think SE did start the rumour. It was just some stupid uninformed PR guy.
Probably the same one that said the S700i supported 1GB memory sticks before it was released.
