Wow, windows Vista really does look amazingly and stupendously ..... exactly the same as XP.......but with different skins.
I wonder will it be another one of those situations where Windows 2000 users lined up for XP, spent a fortune and got what was in effect.....exactly the same operating system.....
OK, I too use XP but at the end of the day, whats all the hype for? I received an update recently from Home edition to XP pro and after being told how networking works better on pro, I sat down and discovered that PRO really does handle networking ..... exactly the same as Home.
When are Microsnot going to give us something new and preferably something that does'nt leach 30% of my system resources?????
OK, thats my rant over

@scorchio:
XP's networking code maybe the same for home and pro, but home was abysmal at connecting to most things when it was released. At any large lan I've been to, its always been the home machines that have caused issues.
@jim:
The last show is of what looks like to be a new search screen. IE is hidden behind a few other windows (look for the one that has the flowers on the bottom) with what looks like their tabbed browsing.
Nothing in the shot to make me not install firefox the minute longhorn touches my harddrive
Long as its 64 bit with proper driver support then all good.

this first release was only targeted to around 10.000 users of MSDN and Technet subscriptions... rest of the users of MSDN/Technet will have access to it during the next weeks...
but not long after its release it was also made available on a big P2P site for downloading...
and since it's still in beta 1 it's no use to be jealous at anyone for having it... why be jealous on something that probably will crash once every 10min
