@nickorooster, was your dads car a kit? does he know about the book by ron chapman "how to build a sports car for under £250, and race it" the £250 bit is rubbish unless you are really lucky. i'm building my locost on a budget of £2000, and the bike engine i want costs over half of the budget!

He got a rolling chassis from Freshair Motoring (In australia) its called a Lietch, its a kiwi made kit, and yeah, he did the rest himself, but he figured that if he was to build a car, it might as well take him longer and have better parts etc.

spot on brownlad, so get some solid leds and your well away, id possibly steer clear of blue lights though, you dont want to get on the wrong side of the po-lice, they Can and will make your life hell.
