are the screen really that small????
Actually the screen are located more top than P910i which "looks" like P990i have a smaller screen !!!
(P910i have a cm's distance while P990i have less distance between the screen and the top right????)

Why is everyone so critical of it's looks? Its a conservative business phone, not a showpiece. The lines are much cleaner than the P9x0 phones, just view any P900 from the back and you'll understand. IMHO the K750 and W800 are less appealing than the P990.

umm guy has anybody noticed that its features are strikingly similar to the Nokia N91? i.e both symbian 3, 2mp, wlan, up to 4gb memory, 256k display, opera web, 1st q release. etc...
You guy think they ganna be directly competing against each other?

not going to be much of a competition, loyal pseries users & corporations are gonna buy this and blow the nokia phone away, as usual...

Why won't you guys calm down? Some of you are making some rather stupid unnecessary comments. The first thing you guys aim to do is compare rather than take a serious look at what the phone has to offer. The next thing, you all want the thing to be the most beautiful, powerful thing in the world. Ever heard of compromise? Personally, I don't see a problem with the design. Another thing, how can you all complain about the ease of use of the build in keyboard? NONE of us have tried it yet, pure speculation. (though I am sure even if you try it and it feels ok, you're blocked minds would say otherwise!).
I know we all have our varying views and all, but sometimes I wish some of the stupid comments would stay beyond the keyboard. If you all are so sure of what the design "ought to be" then maybe you need to send in your resumes to SE.
P.S. But I guess I should've expected all this hot air as is the case with almost every new phone SE releases and then slowly...it dissipates.

Because this isn't the 80s anymore. Cellular technology has been around for a while. It's like saying "Why do they have to make a car look good? Just get everyone from point A to point B... who the hell cares how it looks?" Well... beyond a certain point of functionality, it has to look good. Even for business people. No one wants it to look like some "bling-bling" tacky-a$$ phone.
Ericsson (not SE) had great, classy and elegant designs. The first incarnation of the P-series (when it was still Ericsson) looked a lot better than the P990 (albeit it had an antenna, but that's easily fixed) Plus it already had all the features of the P990, plus GPS.
Since Sony got into the pic... what have we had? BUTTONS... every-F*****-where. Useless and pointless buttons that could've easily been omitted in favor of a secondary function. Cheap looking, SQUARE buttons. Power button is nice to have, but it doesn't need it's own button. Ericsson's power button was a secondary function of the NO key (press for 5 sec). Back, option, OK & "C" buttons?!?! How can you NOT place these as just 2 soft keys instead? Again, Ericsson's YES/NO buttons functioned as these and didn't require 2 more buttons. And still with the internet button. On the P800,900, and 910... this is the dumbest button on the phone... doesn't work with the flip closed, and pointless with the flip open (since you need to use the stylus anyway)... and not remappable by default.
WTF?!?!? I feel like I'm holding a Sony TV remote. All we need now are dedicated MENU buttons for EACH AND EVERY menu within the Phone.
