oh well Wateva the Difference is between them... I dont still see any major difference.... juz the keypads tats all i know... All im saying is... I want the best.... these are high end phones... when high end consumers go to get a high end phone.. they always want the Best... like i do... so SE shud forget all this Business/ Music/ Camera phone sub and just see the products as LOW and HIGH tats it.... surely i wont get any of these 2 models.... coz next thing u know they will include the same model like this one with a 3.2MP cam....

Hence the question arise, wud you still consider buying any of these 2 if there is already the same model with a cam... nvm i answer it for you... Yes i'll go for the one with a camera! see...... hehehe...

O2 is right.
Reading thru this thread, I have noticed that 80% of the postsers (including me) would rather have this phone with a camera. This should be an indicator as to what the sales figures would look like.
A 2.0mp camera would do just fine.

you would be surprised but there are quite a number of customers, such as me, who have been waiting a long time for a high end SE phone WITHOUT a camera. so with regard to the question whether two variants of the W950 were offered, with and without a camera, i would definitely get the one WITHOUT one.

just because a lot of people like phone cams, doesn't mean that everyone wants one. what SE is doing is simply addressing the needs of the different market segments. if you don't like it, then get the model which meets your needs.

there will NEVER be a model of ANY product that meets every single person's needs. the only way to satisfy a greater number of customers is to come up with different variants to account for the different tastes. if you just wait a little longer, there will surely be a variant with a cam so all will not be lost.

Ok so when I provide proof from the source its not good enough?! Alright, in that case you better keep checking with the bluetooth org link I provided as they are the governing body for interoperability and authorize the BT logo to be displayed on packaging & on software in any device claiming to use it NO MATTER the company. Within 3 weeks or slightly more of shipping it will have information on it especially the BT Stack & profiles.

I'd like to see just 3 BT v2.0 devices that have streaming Stereo Support - MS Windows Mobile devices are HTC Wizard & the Atom; 1 with a firmware update NOT on initial launch.

BT v2.0 allows for more devices to be connected (9 I beleive in total) and for faster data rate; the later is unique to this verison. BT 1.2 introduced streaming Stereo Support (64kbps; that was always adequate years ago when na-sayers; many old members here saying it wasnt capable). Not sure if BT v 2.0 has it natively; thats why the documentation for the HBH-DS970 specifically mentions it

even if the one with a cam was cheaper i'd get the one without it.

there are so many places now that do not allow phone cams, especially in offices. it just becomes a royal pain in the a**, especially if you're someone like me who hardly takes pictures to begin with.

No.

@ Prom1 - i'd hesitate saying the W950i has Bluetooth v1.2. Sure, that press release supports what you say, but ive also read items on the SE website which say it has Bluetooth v2.0. I reckon that link you gave simply has a type-o.

I cannot be bothered to search their site however to simply support what i read, so please dont ask

I am however convinced the W950i does have Bluetooth v2.0 - why ? because of what ive already mentioned and because the P990i has it. SE have also stated the P990i (before the W950i was even announced) would support the necessary A2DP profile for stereo sound streaming. So why would SE take a step back and give the W950i v1.2 only.. ?

Previous Bluetooth v2.0 phones (K750i/W800i/W900i) might not support the profile, but then, neither did the K600i which unless im mistaken was also a Bluetooth v1.2 device.

Like i said, i reckon thats just a mistake in the press release, because ive read on the SE website somewhere it does have v2.0. We'll see soon i expect.
