I've been playing around with the R1L driver and W900 driver and find it very hard to tell any difference. For my personal needs/tastes I believe the R1L or W900 version of Phf_2_play.apf both offer the same resolution to the hissing issue. Both require a little restraint with volume and eq settings at times. Neither perform that well with MegaBass at full volume. But then again the R1BC version was not much better with MegeBass. Speaking of which, I changed back to the R1BC version very quickly this evening. OMG! How on earth did any of us (me in particular) not notice that hissing/static/crackle. It's terrible. I couldn't possibly go back to that now. The R1L version of PHF_2_play has probably saved my hearing as I am now more contempt to play songs at a lower volume. I have also chosen to stay with the R1L version as I'd rather stick with a version that was designed for the W800.
I find it interesting that when you change between the w900 and w800 version of PHF_2_play you need to delete settings.xml (from TPA/SYSTEM/MULTIMEDIA/MP). It's strange, if you don't delete it the phone does not remember which song you were playing when you turn off the phone. So, each time you turn the phone off and on it and open the media player it returns to the same song and position. This is another reason why I rather stay with the driver designed for the w800.

There is a hybrid on the first page.....its a re-written R1BC driver with the most minimal changes. Its "the best" hope you've been trying that one and not the W900 driver which is'nt as good in qualtiy as the hybrid driver.

if you want better audio quality but dont want to use far manager and want to keep your hpm70 earphones , simply go to equalizer-> manual , then put the last two bars up to full so the speaker volume will be louder , and the earphone sound will be alot clearer!

Hey AKSD. I been using XVI32 and can see what you've been changing. Clever stuff. Your beta driver is almost identical to orignal R1BC file except for the 1st line. You know what, by changing just 4 values in the R1L driver I can actually get perfect sound and perfect MegaBass - but it comes at the price of a lower max volume. So, I'm going to play around a little more to see what I can get.
