hey guys, i'm looking to get a phone for work, my key requirements being:
a 'today' screen, stable interface
ability to read/edit MS office documents
excellent call quality, good keypad for typing messages
compact and slim, with a great display
good connectivity, wifi and 3G preferably
good battery life
so i've been looking around and it seems nokia e65 best suits my needs. i've read some reviews on it around, but what i want to know are user opinions. any of you lads use one? here's what i need to know...
does it hang a lot? how about battery life with moderate to heavy usage?
any issues that i should know of concerning the office application?
does it support syncing with outlook? or company webmail? are the security features good?
how is the internet browser's capabilities? does it support most pages, even those with advanced encodings (flash, ect.)?
hope you guys can key me in on this, thanks. and any suggestions for other models that fit the bill would be appreciated too. cheers

Hi Bodum,
Although the E65 is a great device as a new owner i can highly recommend the E61 to do what you have asked although not sure about Flash sites.
@Boba
not being picky but that is grey and white I'll post a black one soon.

@ doggman
morning, mate. e61? isn't it a bit on the big side? it does have a QWERTY keypad, but i won't be doing any major document editing so that won't be necessary. what else does the e61 has in advantage to the e65?

Having just had a N93 everything is smaller for me, the E61 is wide but not much bigger than a M600 if at all but has a 16m colour large screen. Which is great for everything from Calendar, E-mail, Web browsing, watching video's or films and also has a excellent Music player. It is a quality product and the keypad is easy to use at feels good easily the best i have used on any device by far. It is also extremely reasonably priced, even the brand new i version is sub £300 which for the features it offers is great value IMHO. All i can say is i wish i had tried one earlier as i am well and truly converted.
Also you did say "ability to read/edit MS office documents " and whilst a lot of smart phones have the ability to read not many come preloaded with the ability to edit or send things directly to printers it has a large additional feature list. I would advise checking one out as the construction is solid yet extremely tactile as you may be able to tell i am more than pleased with mine.

thanks for the reply. i am considering both now, with the decision swinging the e65's way as to it's compact design. i'm not going to have too much use for major data entry, hence i don't need a QWERTY keypad. if i'm not mistaken, both phones share the same feature set apart from the display and the QWERTY. i'm not going to have much use for a larger display as well, i think.
@ singaporeans
i am getting my phone from singapore. any of you could tell me how to tell if a nokia is from an authorized reseller (original set), or a grey import? your input is much appreciated.

Hi! Been studying 4 me finals, have u looked @ the E70? Its almost like the E65 nd its almost as small. It has a fold out keyboard. And a 2 megapixel camera. Its another option u could look @ before u buy the E65.

e70 is a greta fone, but its not that slim. e60 or e65 would be the best options imo

I tried e70 yesterday (only now available here...) - never realised it had such a tiny screen

but feels quite nice

Well from the additional information of what you want it does look like the E65 may well suit your needs better, hope you find it at a good price.
