is your phone branded? Did you buy it from an operator like o2/vodafone? If so, then your cda will not be world generic and so it is restricted to firmware updates approved and branded by your operator & this tends to be a long process. It often takes months for the branded versions to be updated.
So it's up to you wether you wait or switch CDA's, bearing in mind that if you do you will lose any customisations that your operator may have introduced into the firmware such as 'vodafone live' etc.

mine is from smart, a Philippine network provider, I really want to change my CDA if that's possible.
Do I have any chances of having a dead handset?
If I had it done at a SE service center, can they do that for me?

Yes, there's always a chance of killing your handset, but then some people have had this happen with SEUS alone - and then managed to get it repaired by SE. If you take a look through the XS++ threads, I believe there is also a resurrection package available - I've certainly seen it mentioned.
The truth is though that such disasters seem to be fairly rare, as long as you follow the instructions to the letter, and don't do anything stupid like disconnect the phone partway through flashing. I guess, as with everything in life, it's a matter of confidence/bravery/how gung-ho you are

My gprs indicator disappears at random since this firmware. When this happens I lose internet access. Switching phone off and back on does not alway resolve this. Anyone else in the UK experiencing this or is it just me?
I'm on o2 pay as you go and my P1i was bought sim free

with regards to the Back button function, the phone Wizard states that pressing either the Back hardkey or softkey closes an application and it has stated that from release.
finally it looks like it does what its supposed to do!

Not according to the task manager it doesn't - apps are still shown as open there after pressing the back button. They can also be switched to very quickly which suggests that they're already active.

i think he is referring to java apps as now when the back button is pressed a dialog box pops up asking if you want to close the app.
probably the most annoying thing in the word.

@mobman
On my phone I only get the exit dialog if I press and hold the back key. If I just click it, as one would click a mouse then it exits sraight away - admittedly the only java app I have is the old robotic version of quadrapop, so it might be coded to do that.
@kewl usaid
If your cda reads 162022/9 then as the wiki list says, it's a generic (unbranded) version specifically for the Middle East, perhaps it has some special characters/languages for text?
No idea when it'll be updated, as SE don't announce such things

I guess this is so their servers aren't hammered on the day of release.
People do seem to be saying that the green tint is better, if not completely solved with the new firmware - it was never that bad on mine so I can't say personally...

Figured out a solution to the long press back key issue(dialog box pops up and ask if you want to close the app). Well not a real solution more a way around it. go to task manager while the app is open, while in task manager hit the stand by key, this takes you to the regular stand by menu. Now that i have realized this it makes more sense why they did this change in the latest fw. I do recall quite a few people griping that they didnt like the fact that they constantly had to close an app thru task manager. This way if you want the app to stay open then you by pass thru task manager and its open for future use, if you back out of the app it closes and no forgetting to close it later.
