either way works. basically those characters are removed and anything after them is sent as the message.

this should work on any network. I'm currently using it on t-mobile on my iphone and have used it on Telstra (Australia) on my iphone and other phones too

just try it. send yourself a message

I read on the net the boss of Vodafone stating they are not getting the iphone(as yet) is what he said. Though would be good.

Vodafone NZ will be releasing the iPhone on July 11.
Australia is also getting it on July 11, probably through Vodafone.

Well if Vodafone NZ are getting it then surely Vodafone UK should but who knows. By the way my sister in law is from Wellington New Zealand.

Actually Vodafone UK are not getting it - yet. From the Vodafone Press release:
"Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network."

You sister-in-law is not missing anything here; NZ is in the doldrums ATM. Hopefully November brings a change of Govt, we need one that has a clue...

Does anyone know if it would be possible to have a "Today" screen on the new iPhone? Such as that on TytnII, N95 or other business mobiles?

I have seen an app which acts this way but cant remember what it was called. No doubt something like that will be available when the app store opens.

There are two that I know of: Intelliscreen & iToday. Intelliscreen seems to be more popular.

Thanks guys for your replies.

So, the screens from these apps will run over the usual iPhone screen (the screen where you have all the apps on)?

No, they are displayed on the 'locked' screen.

Hi all

Well OK it's confirmed that it has HSDPA but something doesn't make sense as the claim of 2.8 faster then EDGE is a severely cut down HSDPA speeds.

Please some one correct me if I'm wrong but isn't EDGE slower than 3G and 3G is 384kbps and i believe EDGE is 280kbps odd well 2.8x faster then 280kbps is well bellow even 1mbps. Even basic HSDPA is up to 3.6mbps and a lot devices are now coming equipped to support up to 7.2mbps as the networks are rolling out support for this.

So what is happening with the 3G iPhones HSDPA support then? as i for one am confused.

Marc

I'm confused too, and this imgae confuses me even more ...

According to GSMA it supports 3.6Mbps.

Anyone knows if there are major changes in the iPod that comes with the iPhone? Looks to me like the biggest upgrade here is the inclusion of 3G.
