I've been checking out some new widgets over the past couple of days. Does anyone have a favorite widget that's highly recommended? I have all the usual suspects - facebook, Youtube, twitter etc. along with FeedingTime (RSS reader), SimpleClock, ScientificCalculator, Accuweather etc.

Has anyone tried the BitTorrent widget?? I've been using SymTorrent on my N95 for the past couple of months and would love to have something similar on the P1i.

Generally widget query if I may? What is the point of ones like wikipedia and answers.com. Are there any benefits over just having a bookmark in your browser? Or perhaps am I, and not for the first time, being dumb?

There are some, bandwidth for example, the images scripts and html used in the widget are all local. When you search for somethink on wikipedia it just fetches the results rather than the entire page.

Its also slightly more convient than a bookmark because you dont have to wait for the page to load..

but yes, the benefit of certain 'webpage' widgets are small. These are still the first generation of widgets though, we've been working closely with some operators like t-mobile to provide widget solutions for them, and i think widgets hold a lot of promise in the future!

p.s. flash will be fixed.

@soulsurfer, great to know flash will be fixed!

also, i am really expecting what comes in terms of widgets...some of the existing are really awesome, like the twitter one and the accuweather one...they do avoid the necessety of using the browser at all

however...i think you guys need really to improve two things: RAM usage, and speed...look at the new Ozone browser...it completely trumps opera (and @web) in terms of speed

Yeah the more we looked at it, the more impossible it seems, we tried every work around in the book. I just dont think its possible to deliver something stable using opengl, uiq3.0 and switching orientations.
