I also read this

Also as for GS2 vs arc, gingerbread doesn't run any faster whether its on a dualcore or singlecore device. So until ICS comes out there isn't even much point, how many apps really benefit from the dualcore use? Plus the galaxy just feels so much bulkier and uncomfortable in the hand then the arc. Slight bias on my part, but in terms of value for money and overall better experience I'd say the arc is better

Here is a new Poll for Xperia Arc S
crack issue
My friend who has a midnight blue of arc, the crack appears on the 5th month which is really hard to see, and now 9 months the crack got bigger and really visible and noticeable, just a cosmetic issue though
, performance still the same.

I have tried to compare my Arc(2.3.4 - .62) vs my friend's GS2(2.3.6), GS2 is slightly faster and fluid(for now), and I really hate how GS2 camera outperforms Arc/Arc S, GS2 got more Details and Less Noise.
I have to agree with you, GS2 is so bulky, pricey, design(Samsung/LG/HTC all look the same no differentiation except for the size) and TouchWiz UI is no Better than SE UXP imo.

Does the black arc suffer from this cracking issue too?

Well there is no saying that all Arc S suffer same fate. You cannot just say it will appear at 5 months you don't know that. Mine was made the 2nd week of 2012 so it should be a new non faulty batch. I have had certain phones before where people say a certain fault occurs but it never did. You should not presume to say just cos other have had it does not mean it will happen to all. There is one on there using it for 7 months he says no cracks.

I previously thought that it was only older models that are affected, when the issue was well know and even accepted by SE as a problem, like March time last year. So when I got my arc in June and it was only 3 weeks old from manufacturing I though, Oh that's good I'll have a new build so they've must of fixed the issue by now. And I had no cracks, until about November when I noticed a small line above the sensor. If there are some users having issues with cracks on their arc s and anothers not, I'd put it down to just luck and which phone you get. Seeing as we still don't know what causes the problem and if SE had fixed the issue then there would be no reports of cracking, but unfortunately there are. I can live with the crack but I hope I don't get any more...

Time will tell & some say that I will probably not have the phone long enough to find out
But I do love it
