I don't think you can 'know' anything based on your reasoning. If laffen made his decision to appoint moderators based on votes he would initiate the voting threads himself at a time when he felt he needed a new moderator, wouldn't he?
As I understood it I was already being considered prior to the voting threads though perhaps they helped to bring the decision more quickly to its conclusion

well, i am sorry if i offend you. i am preety new here and i guess i still have much to learn. anyway, i keep hearing that there are 6 mods here. i know masseur is one (his is almost in every page i viewed, so, it is not diffifcult to see someone post the info.) who are the rest? i don't know if jim is a mod.. though it seem like he is.
