he thought i was going to take off into a gap which was actually far too small. the real problem was that he was in a Nissan Navara work ute (utility) and he got a good run up before hitting me. i have been told i will lose my car for a minimum of eight working days, so now i have my father and my fiance chauffeuring me around - alas, no hire car. at least i live near public transport

on the plus side, we signed up with a builder over the weekend so we are finally making a bit of progress.

just heard back from the insurance company - no fault claim, therefore no excess and no affect on rating (i.e. it's all the other guy's fault).

also, just shy of AU $4000 damage (about 13.5% of original purchase cost). now i just have to wait for repairs *twiddles thumbs and whistles tunelessly*

As long as you don't have to wait as long as I did when some berk drove into the side of my car - they had it for about 7 WEEKS!

And the damaged wasn't that bad I thought - paintwork and light panel damage, slight damage to 2 alloys where a hit a curb - and I think they replaced half the car! And were waiting for a couple of parts from Nissan, which was why it took so long.

I thought the company (that my insurer chose and took the car to) that my car was taken to was taking the insurance company for a ride, by fixing more than was necessary!

pretty busy weekend....met with our vicar to go over the options for our wedding ceremony, selected our wedding bands, caught up with some friends from uni for dinner whom i haven't seen in 6 months or more. also, another friend of mine was doing a play of "Mort", the Terry Pratchett Discworld novel. he played Death (pics below):

not really sure how that would work out jojo. i don't see that many melbournians regularly on esato, and the aussies i do know are expats. apart from all that, i can't expect people to fly down especially for my nuptials, and i value my anonymity.

if any esatonians with whom i regularly communicate are in melbourne around the time of my wedding, and they are desparate to come, i suppose they could PM me and i'd think about it (after we've worked out things for the people i actually do know).

Well, whatever it is in the end, I just hope that all will work out as expected. Will it be a church or garden wedding Where's the reception/honeymoon be held mate !

the wedding will be at an anglican church in melbourne, the reception at a function centre in the suburbs of melbourne, and the honeymoon at an island off the coast of queensland and in sydney ( spiders ).

sorry for being vague - it's an anonymity thing - but i will furnish more precise details closer to the date, or maybe after

@gelfen - H m m m . . . I guess photos will do best rather than emitting those details mate ! Try wearing a mask ala Phantom Of The Opera, so that your 'anonymity' will still be intact !
