im quite happy to wait, very happy with my p900, for me personally 128mb card is plenty & i really like the p900 keypad, the p910 key pad IMO is ugly & i dont like SE's new thing of printing 'quickshare' all over their new phones - why? i would only pay good money for a p910 on an upgrade when my contract is up if it was offered to me at a sensible price, BUT.....if the service centres can upgrade the firmware from p900 > p910 for gratis then i will be at the front of the que!

its understandable that a lot of people will want the p910 even if they have the p900, because it will be better than the p900, thats why the released it because its an improvement, the grass is always greener and that!

p.s that qwerty flip has to be one of the biggest gimicks ever!
given all the methods of writing an email or text on the p900, handwriting, t9, multi-tap, there is something for everyone that keypad just looks daft and in-practical!

The qwerty keypad attachment for the T68(i) sold big. I remember when compatibility for the P800 was a big request. So I guess the keypad is a necessity that SE shows that consumers have asked for. I certainly would have used the old keypad if there were drivers designed for the P800/P900.

Is the connection to pc "serial as USB" like the pX00 or is it really USB? P900 has a very slow transfer rate....

@ bigfeat

no doubt, but why not make the old chatboard compatable or relase a new & improoved chatboard instead of fitting an entire keyboard the size of a postage stamp!

The new 'chatboards' in the pipeline were intended to be BT compatible. The old serial chatboard seems to have a very quick response time with my T68i. I can't imagine it was difficult for so to develop drivers for it. However, I think most users were probably satisfied with the touchscreen. I do like the fact that the keyboard is attached because it's one less piece to lose. I have an attachable keyboard for my IPAQ PPC, however, I seldomly use it because I often forget to bring it or carrying it with becomes cumbersome.

i, for one, don't like using handwriting recognition and always end up using the virtual keyboard on my p800 so i welcome the built-in QWERTY keypad. and as bigfeat mentioned, if i had to carry a separate chatboard, 9 times out of 10 i would end up leaving it behind.

The keyboard's there because it makes the device more competitive.

Bear in mind that while people on this board might be enthusiasts, a large % of people who buy Treos & Blackberry's just want them for email.

It's the keyboard that's made the Blackberry sell & in my opinion S-E has done the right thing in getting the P910 out as fast as possible, while keeping most of the underlying HW+SW the same.

And yeah I am happy that I waited cause I beleive that a P900 is not a upgrade from a P800 and I saved some money and I can get the P910.

So you don’t regard the P900 as an upgrade to the P800. Well it isn’t called a P810 is it?!? So apparently the SE engineers think that it is a proper upgrade… But of course you are much cleverer then the designers.
No the P910 replaces the P900 but that doesn’t mean that it is the next phone in the Pxx(x) series. There are too few design/tech changes.

Well the difference from the P800 to the P900
P800: LCD 4096
P900: LCD 65000

P800: Polyphonic Sound 16 voices
P900: Polyphonic Sound 24 voices

P800: no cam button
P900: cam button

P800: 158 g
P900: 150 g

Larger MSD included in the with the P900
T9 typing in the P900
Larger screen in the P900
Newer software in the P900
Large changes in the design

I have never regretet buying the P900 it is a grate phone and after selling phones for a while I wouldn’t change it for any other phone. Not even for the P910 sins it apparently (no true official specs out yet) doesn’t have any important changes that I can use. (I have not yet maxed out my 32mb MSD you can’t tell the difference between a 65k display and a 2xxk display and the cam isn’t good enough yet. And common Wifi?!? In Denmark you have to subscribe to these services in order to use that. So would i pay € 700 or some for the new P910?!? NO never...)
