Hi,

I've just uploaded version 1.16 of Soldier Ants to my website. I've tweaked a lot of the game, so I'm looking for feedback and bugs in this version.

Goto www.smartmobilegames.com, all the Soldier Ants related stuff is there.

Tweaks to the ants graphics
Various changes to the look of the frontend
Support for the next map pack, which will be released shortly
Ingame instructions

The game has changed quite a lot internally, so I want the more adventurous people to play it a bit before I publish it properly! Seems to work though, no negative reports so far.

I have a question, have you fixed so that the ai uses the new weapons? Cause I haven't seen them using the new weapons and teleporter and stuff like that. I have an old version, I haven't downloaded the new one yet..

One more thing, when there are only two players left and they both fall down till the bottom, then the it should be a draw cause they both will die in a couple of seconds but now the game ends as soon as the first one dies and then the second team will win..

They currently use most weapons but not every single one. (Off the top of my head) they don't use mines, teleporter, aardvark, time bomb or mango. I will probably extend their weapon use to include the teleporter and time bomb at some stage. They are using the most recent weapons which are present only in the map packs.

yeah somestuff I always forget to say is:

Ai is slow to choose player to play with
This is really a big issue, you loose game interest.

And the weapons damage rate is weird:
"bottle with fire" does so much damage it close to death. It shouldn't take so much.

"Uzi" when fired in close range it damages the ant to much. I easliy beat the HARD ai almost only on uzi.

When firing a rocket directly on an ant, the ant sometimes stays in same place or even sometimes fly against the rocket direction.

"drop bomb" the one that you can put and then run away from. When droping it on a steap hill it stops to early, it should fall/roll more.

When using a weapon or teleporter where you first aim where to shoot and then push the red button to shoot.
Sometimes I want to change the aim, and not to cancel and choose the weapon. Maybe you can make it possible to re-aim when pushing on the yellow aim in the toolbox.

I think the map generator needs much more work..

And sometimes still when its nect team turn, the team just wont get the turn and I have to quit the game and start another level.

You could try taking on 2 teams at once. That would make it tougher. I'll do a pass on the AI at some stage, add in more weapons for them, speed it all up a bit and make it a bit harder.

Again, is this with 1.16? I've never seen this problem myself. If its on the latest version then I'll have a look tomorrow night.

The petrol bomb is the hardest weapon to aim in the game. There are things I dislike about it though, so I may have to have a look at this.

Ok, I'll tweak that a little.

I've never seen this, but I'll do some tests and see what happens.

I didnt really want it to roll at all! Thats just a fluke that I left in. I'll make it a little more bouncy for you.

I never thought of that... but it makes so much sense! Why didnt I think of it. doh!

I'm going to retire it. I just don't like it. Have you tried the new map packs? They are waaaaaay better. I wish to continue in that manner. See what you think.

I have heard reports of this, but I cannot reproduce it. Can you email me a better description? What happened just before it? What weapon was last used? Where did it hit? If I can pin it down it'll be easy to fix.

That should keep me busy! This is the best sort of feedback.

About the 2v1 is a good idea but i think that in the previous versions the ants where more "smart" ( i dont know, maybe is just me )

Again, is very borring to wait 30 secs because the ant is choosing character or something, the AI needs to be faster.

P/S 1: just wandering if anyone has managed to use the rope, I dont think it ever works or maybe I just dont know how to use it.

P/s 2: I too sometimes suffer from the "no next turn" problem, hence have to restart, I have not noticed any pattern when it does occur, I dont think it relates to any particular weapon, but I do notice that it usually happens to me in the very beginning of the game, especially if the AI makes the first move. It almost always happens in the second move.
