Hi sony mad,

AFAIK no SE phones capable of playing a WMA audio file. You need to convert it to MP3 audio file

I am afraid that there is no way to make a mobile phone act like a TV Remote Controller. Perhaps in the future.

Regarding to your question on any converter for WMA --> MP3, I do not know if Windows Media Player 10 is capable to do so or not. Perhaps someone could help you to find a suitable application for such task.

Also, please try Winamp or iTunes for Windows (the latest version of iTunes I think can convert WMA to MP3).

Hope this help.

@ T-Shirt,

maybe sony mad was an ex-nokia user, i had an irRemote v.08 for symbian OS before with my nokia 6600 and it works with any nokia phone with infrared. it can control tv, vcr, audio/video, etc. and nokia phones with mmc are capable of storing sms & mms either to the phone memory or memory card... real one player on nokias also can play wma...

regards,
jesspadua

@ jesspadua:

Perhaps RealOne supports WMA, but I think it's just for music play and we cannot use WMA as a ringer even on Nokia.

@ sony mad:

The coolest thing that can be done on K750i? Hhmmm... I think about these:

# Picture taking is cool with 2.0Mpixels digital camera.
# Remote controlling desktop PC.
# Playing AAC music with external loud speakers (this need a converter for K750i RCA connectors).
# Playing J2ME 3D games (I love FearFactor, PuzzleBobble, and AquaSim).
# Periodically change the ringer with my custom-made MP3 ringers.

This is just what I've been doing on my K750i.

Hope this interesting.

Hi sony mad,

I do not remember where I got those games from (from the internet though).

I'm not sure if K750i cover/case would fit to D750i, perhaps others know.

hey all,

i just recently obtained a k750i and i came accross from a nokia 8310. the sony has definately been a bit of a learning curve. so much so that i even asked if i could swap it back for a nokia because i was so fustrated with it.

these are my gripes with the phone thus far:

- the snooze time on the alarm is not changeable
- reminders only vibrate for a short moment. this is a pain because if you are driving or walking you can miss reminders if your phone is on silent.
- music player plays sound out the back speaker when the phone is silent
- calendar events / reminders / tasks / notes do not have the ability to make them recurring / repeating i.e. make a calendar event repeat once every week
- no message folders. this by far has to be the most stupid thing on the phone and the biggest reason why i would go back to a nokia. and how stupid is the saved messages folder? it uses your sim card, which mine has a massive 30 messages of space. what opn earth were sony thinking in this area? what was the reason behind this choice?
- keypad buttons are very wobbly and easy to hit two keys at once
- the joy stick can be fidgety
- the top two buttons are at a different angle to the keypad buttons
- you can't lock the keypad while a text message is sending, other wise it cancels the sending. i could lock my phone or go into other menus while a text message was sending on my nokia.
- the stupid camera shutter sound can't be turned off
- the user manual that comes with the phone isn't that great

i am new to the phone so if any one knows a work around for any of my gripes (ESPECIALLY the no sms folders) i'd really appreciate the help.

ciao,
adrian
