@rmk152 on the X10i you had to place it in the right folder where the system looks for it, if i remember correct its
sdcard/media/audio/alarms
and notifications for sms signals

Using Xplore i can only find:
Android
DCIM
LOST.DIR
WhatsApp
not including my folders.
NB. i can definr the ringtone ok using my MP3 folder. Mmmmmm

you have to create the folder(s) if they do not exists
the tones you see are "system sounds" they are not on your sdcard.
ie. make a folder called media on the root of your sdcard and inside audio and inside that alarms media/audio/alarms
