I share your disappointment with the delay of the P990. But it really does show that SE don't have the massive development capacity of Nokia, remember they about 20/25% the size of Nokia.

Not only that ! SE has debt to repay to its parent companies. They have done a nice profit in the first quarter of this year but they aren't totally 'free' to decide where the money are going :-( . As I've said earlier, the P990 is nowhere near the 'flagship' model announced in the first post of this tread. They should cancel it, change the OS and specs where necessary and release a new model like in the P1000. The specs should be as least as good as the soon to be realised Nokia N93. Greetings from South Africa. Mario :)

I thought you know a lot about cellphones - the answer is no. No touch screen on the N93 - but on the other hand is using the most used operating system in a cell ! I am not going to argue with you Warez, but I will like a P-cell with a wifi 'g' standard better video and photo , stable os, a well developed user marked (software) - to name but just a few. I know this is a P990 tread and expect people like you to criticise my ideas, yet is fine with me aslong as Se come out with a device like that. Greetings from South Africa. mario

Hello All of you. Its been a lobng time I have not posted anything in here, but been reading on and off this particular topic to get to know when the P990i will be out. I just could not handle it anymore and since the last 3 months have been using different phones after having been a loyal SE user for teh last 5 years.
In march my P910 started giving me crap, thus I decided to move to a Palm Treo 650. Never even think of leaving Symbia for PPC or Windows mobile or palm. Used the phone for 4 weeks and could not handle it, and went and bought out a HP Ipaq HW6615D. Windows Mobile 2003 based.
Works well, but u need to reset the phone every 2-3 days. Cant get blackberry to work. So since march, I have no mobile emails. And on those platforms they do not support Roadsync or other push email function unless u are set up on the Windows server 2003 and have Windows Mobile 5.
Guys, if its worth the wait, please wait. The P990 will be the phone to have. Dont go for any Windows based phone, after having used an SE phone. I am already regretting for buying those 2 phones worth around USD 1200.00 for both.
If SE are waiting, maybe after some testing they are finding faults or bugs that they are busy sorting and most probably awaiting developpers with the adequate supporting softwares too.
Tomorrow, I will be bidding both of those phones on
www.bidorbuy.co.za and buy a second hand P910 in teh meantime.
But well done on having made this topic so long. which means there are thousands if not ten thousands of SE users awaiting to get their hands on the P990i.

Something is horribly wrong!!
Yep I first heard it was the Wi Fi from a source in Nokia Finland, I have also heard its the OS that is totaly bug ridden, and now to top it all, Vodafone's UK stores have been told, and are now telling those who enquire after the P990 that "its business card reader function does not work" and SE will not release the phone until it works with all its functions as marketed! I was told yesterday that it will be August before Vodafone Stores are due to get "another update" on the device! So as for a July release Nahh not on your Nelly!!!!

I thought about it as well but I currently have 597 contactsmost with three or more numbers, email addresses, ( not including Tasks Caldendar, Word Docs Excell Spreads Etc) notes etc and I dont think the Nokia will handle it. Also the more I think about not being able to write my notes, texts, Appointments etc and having to go back to s****y little keyboards the less likley I am to change from the P series BUT mine is falling to bits and I cannot wait much longer!!!!!!
