@GEOFFXX - if you're reading this, i ordered a 64GB SDXC card, which will arrive tuesday. So, i'll be able to tell you my experience. but you really should make sure the 64gb card works in something else..

it's all rather confusing, this Kingston card worked perfectly in my XZU, I believe it was formatted exfat straight out of the packaging, it was completely unrecognised in the Z1 or my laptop, tried it in a SG4 last night still not working - but I also tried his 64gb card in my Z1 and it didn't work, I had more or less assumed that the XZU and the Z1 were very similar in both Hardware and Software so I just assumed the card would work perfectly in the Z1

So what next, it is well known that SD cards are fragile and easily corrupted/bricked, I'm not sure that the Z1 supports exfat but it definitely should support fat32, I believe that most 64gb sd cards come formatted exfat so if I decide to buy another card I will be formatting it fat32 - there is no real disadvantage to doing this except the 4gb file size limit and I can't think of any situation were I need a file size anywhere near 4gb, fat32 seems to be more stable and less prone to errors. I will also see if I can get the shop to fit it for me and play dumb - that way if it fails I can just walk away

Meanwhile the 16gb card is working flawlessly

PS, meanwhile I contacted Kingston support to see if they while replace under their lifetime warranty - I'm not holding my breath

Did you try using the phone itself to format the card? It works for my Z.

@northmonkey

That's a way to get BETTER pics than what the default camera app can manage, and it applies to ALL smartphones. That app will take better pics than default camera app of any Sony, Samsung, LG or HTC smartphone.

Nice shootout. Iphone 5S and Z1 are definitely much better than Note 3. Iphone 5S and Z1 are close, but that's 8MP vs 20 MP. Z1 pics resized to 8MP will be quite a lot better than Iphone 5s

@geoffxx - did you see the post from supercoolman? he said he got his 64gb microsd to work in his Z1. I believe he let his Z1 format his card though? I'm not sure. When I get my Z1 and MSD card, I will try it right out of the box (it's preformatted at exFat, I believe) and let you know if it is indeed an exFat support issue and what I do to fix it

@supercoolman - can you clarify?

@randomuser - i got the apk and will test it out once i get my Z1.. of course posting comparison pics for all you geeks here. i'll see if i can find out the display too, but since i got it from the UK, i'm guessing sharp as well.

@anybody else - really, at this point if you are still trying to trash the screen, give it up. if you haven't touched one with your own hands, seen one with your own hands, then you have no opinion. it's as simple as that. before release, it could be tolerated from videos and whatever, but now it's out. go look at it. and enough with the same bullsh!t already.. it's clear that the vast majority of Z1 OWNERS are very happy with their screen.

The screen is great from what I saw. I didn't see any view angle problems mentioned by review sites. I am looking forward to seeing your photos as I'm concerned about the noise more than anything as mine will be here in a few days. But yeah, the screen is pretty kick-ass.

with good screens on all retail version so far, people are still trashing screen.

I will always prefer Z1 screen over this...

So, I was poking around the sonymobile UK site and reading the Z1 info again.. ya know.. for fun. and the main website lists the Z1 (NOTE this is the UK site which should have C6903), as having BOTH 4 and 17 LTE bands (which is obviously not correct). What's worse, is when you click on the whitepaper link on the same page, it gives you the white paper for C6902, which doesn't even support LTE.

Sony has always been bad at getting their website information right.. but damn.. they need to do better. it can't be THAT difficult to have people quality check the information and links on their flagship device!
